Polygonaceae

The Polygonaceae family, also known as the buckwheat or knotweed family, includes diverse flowering plants adapted to various climates, but our offerings center solely on Coccoloba uvifera, commonly called seagrape. This evergreen shrub or small tree is native to tropical coastal regions of the Americas and the Caribbean. It features large, thick, round leaves with a glossy green surface, and it produces clusters of small, purple grape-like fruits. Coccoloba uvifera has multiple applications: it serves as an excellent ornamental plant for coastal gardens, parks, and urban green spaces, adding tropical charm with its foliage and fruits.
